We have had such a great response to our recently launched Indigenous Business Directory and the Indigenous eCommerce website Indigeshop that we want to share it with as many people as possible.

The more businesses that sign up, the better it is for all Indigenous Businesses. We want to make the JEDI Indigenous Business Directory the “one stop shop” for supporting Indigenous business.

 
 

JOIN.  

If you are not currently on the JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory, please join and you will be entered into a draw to win $1,000 in business development funds. 

REFER.  

If you are an existing business on JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory, you are automatically entered to win $1,000 in business development funds.   

If you refer another business that joins the JEDI Business Directory, you will be entered to win an additional $500 in business development funds.  You can refer as many new businesses as you like, and you can have multiple entries. 

WIN. 

The deadline for the contest will be September 30, 2023. The NEW draw date will be October 3, 2023, and the winners will be notified

You can use your business development dollars for products or services that will help support or grow your business.  Maybe you need a new piece of equipment, some marketing advice or help with a business plan.  If you win, you can discuss what you would like to have for business development with a member of JEDI’s Economic Development team. 

Please read our Contest Rules before entering. Any applicant who does not meet all Contest Rules will be disqualified.

How To Enter:

  1. If you are not currently on JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory, simply sign up and you are entered to win.

  2. If you are a member of JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory, you are automatically signed up to win the $1,000 in business development funds.

  3. If you are a member on JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory, and you refer another Indigenous business(es) to sign up, you will have an entry for every Indigenous business you refer and you are in for an additional $500 in business development funds.

  4. To be valid, businesses must be signed up before September 30, 2023 at 11:59 PM Atlantic Standard Time. Any late submissions will not be accepted. 

  5. Any submissions deemed by Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) to be inappropriate or not suitable will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Joint Economic Development Initiative. 

*Cannabis and Medicine shops are not eligible.

Eligibility:

  • This Contest is only available for Indigenous individuals aged 19 or older in New Brunswick, Canada.

  • This Contest is only available for businesses that are at least 51% Indigenous owned.

  • This Contest is void outside of New Brunswick, Canada.

  • The Contest is not open to employees of the Joint Economic Development Initiative Inc. or the JEDI Board of Directors.

  • Entrants are only eligible for the prizes provided all submission and eligibility conditions set forth in these Contest Rules have been met.

  • Winners must complete a test of skill to receive their prize.

Submissions:

  • To be eligible, participants must be signed up on the JEDI Indigenous Business Directory by September 30, 2023.

  • Any late submissions will not be eligible to win. Any other means of submission will not be accepted.

  • Referrals can be made by existing Indigenous businesses on the directory. New sign up will need to identify the business that referred them when they sign up.

  • Existing business can also forward an email to julie.augustine@jedinb.ca letting her know they have referred another business.

  • You can make as many referrals as you want. Only those businesses that sign up for JEDI’s Indigenous Business Directory are valid.

Winners & Prizes:

  • JEDI will announce the winners of the $1,000 and $500 prize on October 3, 2023.

  • Only existing businesses on the JEDI Indigenous Business Directory as of July 19, 2023 are eligible for the additional $500 prize.

  • On the above-mentioned dates, a random draw will be conducted from among all eligible entries received during the Contest period. The selected entrants to correctly answer the mandatory mathematical skill-testing question shall be declared the winners, subject to meeting all the conditions described in these rules. The decisions are final and non-negotiable.

  • The prizes are in the form of business development dollars that will go towards a product or service that will add or enhance your business.

  • Prizes are to be accepted as offered and cannot be redeemed for cash. Should the winner refuse a prize, the Joint Economic Development Initiative Inc. is released from any obligation related to the prize.

Liability:

  • The Joint Economic Development Initiative Inc. accepts no responsibility for entries lost, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, delayed or destroyed or for the failure or malfunction of any hardware, software or telecommunication component relating to submissions.

  • In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these Contest Rules shall prevail, govern, and control. Terms and conditions of the Contest Rules are subject to change without notice.

  • This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube.

Media Release:

Should you post any photos for the Contest, you are granting JEDI permission to use the photo and your name for promotional purposes. You confirm that you own the rights to any photos submitted, that you have secured consent from any individuals included in the photos to distribute the photo, and that your photos will not violate the rights of any third parties or any applicable laws. Submissions should not include copyright-protected material by third parties unless permission has been granted. JEDI will be sharing the entries through our social media channels and on our website. By entering the Contest, you acknowledge and agree that all submissions may be reproduced and published (without notice or compensation) worldwide in perpetuity and in any form of media. Submissions may be cut, reformatted, rearranged, combined with other materials and/or otherwise modified.
