Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) launches the Cultural Revitalization Fund

The Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) is proud to announce the Cultural Revitalization Fund, made possible by the proceeds generated from the Indigenous Reconciliation Awareness Module (IRAM). JEDI’s IRAM program educates organizations on the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, by providing professional and interactive training programs that put an Indigenous lens at the forefront.  

 Elsipogtog Early Years Immersion Program   

The Cultural Revitalization Fund will have a meaningful impact on Indigenous communities, recognizing the importance of cultural preservation and the healing process. Guided by a dedicated steering committee comprised of JEDI employees, local Wabanaki Elders, and residential school survivors, all committed to ensuring the success and meaningful impact of this initiative.  

Key priorities for the Cultural Revitalization Fund include:   

  1. Indigenous Language Revitalization and Education  

  2. Elder and/or Youth-Led Initiatives  

  3. Land-Based Learning Initiatives  

  4. Elder Gatherings and Initiatives  

  5. Support for Residential and Day School Survivors  

To date, the Cultural Revitalization Fund has donated $10,000 to three initiatives:   

The Ugpi’ganjig Msit No’kmaq Forest & Nature School

  • The Kehkimin Wolastoqey Language Immersion School
