Summer employment opportunities for students

The Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) Program is now accepting applications from New Brunswick students enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies in the fall of 2015. The application deadline for this program is June 30, 2015.

The SEED program aims to provide students with work experience in their field of study and the goal of the program is to improve students’ employment prospects upon the completion of their studies. The average length of job placement is 8 weeks. SEED jobs are often located in provincial, municipal, and First Nations government levels and in non-profit organizations.

Eligibility

A participant must:

  • be a resident of New Brunswick or a First Nation Community in New Brunswick
  • be eligible to work in Canada
  • be a full-time student in the current academic year and be attending a full-time post-secondary institution in the fall
  • be registered with the Provincial Student Referral Office

Once a SEED Student application has been completed, all eligible students must register in the Student Employment and Referral System (SEARS) to be considered for referral to SEED jobs. SEARS is a database which matches up the requirements of SEED employers with the skills, educations and location of the SEED students.

Applications kits are available online or are available at the Department’s Regional Offices, Human Resource Service Centres, Service NB Centres and NB universities, community colleges and high schools.
