Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy
JEDI's Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy (IALL) training program helps Indigenous peoples achieve their goals by linking them to opportunities to obtain their GED, master the 9 Workplace Essential Skills, and/or enhance their computer skills.
The Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy Program offers:
Career-planning programs,
Links to Workplace Essential Skills (WES),
Links to GED,
Digital Literacy,
Personal Cyber Safety,
Financial Literacy,
Upskills for Work,
Customized learning for First Nations communities and Indigenous peoples in New Brunswick,
Cultural Awareness.

Traditional Teaching Fund
Indigenous Traditional teachings and ways of knowing can be added onto your community workshops through JEDI’s Traditional Teaching Fund. The Indigenous Adult Learning & Literacy program will support traditional teaching activities in collaboration with provincial Workplace Essential Skills (WES) and Adult Learning and Literacy initiatives for Indigenous learners at a maximum of $750.00 per initiative. Examples of activities supported are Elder/Traditional Knowledge Keeper, Beading, Sweetgrass picking, basket making, sweat lodge ceremony, Blanket Exercise, longhouse construction/teachings, etc.
This funding is only available to Indigenous workshops in New Brunswick.
Guidelines for the Traditional Teaching Fund:
The activity must include Indigenous traditional teachings/ways of knowing and to be incorporated into an IWES or Adult Learning and Literacy initiative.
Applications must be approved before any requests for reimbursement.
Reimbursement will be issued upon receiving receipts/documentation and the activity completed.
Maximum of $750.00 per initiative.
Application Process:
Community Employment & Training Officers and/or DPETL Program Officer may apply for funding through the IALL Coordinator.
