DSAI/EXP & JEDI Indigenous Bursary
This bursary supports Indigenous students pursuing studies in Architecture and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Recognizing the underrepresentation of Indigenous individuals in these fields, the program aims to reduce this disparity by offering financial assistance to help Indigenous students succeed in higher education.
Eligibility Requirements
Indigenous Status: Applicants must be recognized as Indigenous Peoples within their respective communities.
Please provide proof of status (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis).
Connection to New Brunswick: Applicants must either be attending school in New Brunswick or belong to a community within the province.
Academic Pursuit: Applicants must be enrolled in at an accredited post-secondary institution, such as a university, college, or technical institute, with a focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) education.
Preference may be given to students pursuing careers in engineering or architecture.
Please provide confirmation of enrollment.
Essay Requirement: Applicants must submit a 500–1000-word essay outlining their financial need, future goals, commitment to education, and dedication to helping New Brunswick First Nations communities thrive.
Resume: A current copy of the applicant’s resume must be included.

Amount: Two (2) Bursaries valued at $2,500.

Please submit a completed application along with an essay, proof of enrollment, proof of Indigenous status, and your resume to the JEDI office by Friday, February 28, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified in April, 2025.
How are the bursary applicants selected?
A selection committee will review the applications, and the bursary will be awarded in April, 2025.

AtkinsRéalis / Joint Economic Development Initiative Inc. Bursary
In partnership with AtkinsRéalis, JEDI would like to offer six bursaries to students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.

Eligibility Requirements:
Full-time Indigenous student;
Residing in New Brunswick;
Proof of Indigenous status;
Proof of studies at a post-secondary institution (Preference may be given to those enrolled in University degree programs, due to the depth of commitment and expense involved.);
In 500-1000 words, the applicant is to write an essay illustrating their need, objectives, future goals and aspirations, their commitment to education, volunteer work, and their desire to help NB First Nations communities thrive;
A copy of the applicant’s resume.
Amount:
Six (6) bursaries of $1,000 each are available.
