Case studies that focus on Aboriginal entrepreneurs and businesses are not common in post-secondary business education. The Aboriginal Business Case Writing Contest, launched by Cape Breton University (CBU) in Nova Scotia, would like to change that.
In December, CBU created an Aboriginal business case writing contest that is open to any student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
Students are encouraged to talk to Aboriginal businesses and write about the history and story of those businesses. Then they need to create one case study where they identify and describe a challenging situation that a business faced and create questions surrounding that situation that will test other student’s analytical skills, encourage discussion and allow students to come up with their own course of action surrounding the challenge.
The grand prize is $1000 for the winner of the Aboriginal case study contest. There are also runner up prizes of $200 each.
Deadline for submissions is February 28, 2014. Click here for full eligibility and submission guidelines. Here is a sample case study. Good luck to all entrants.
