JEDI Students Leave Legacy in Kingsclear Training Centre

Kingsclear Training Centre

JEDI just finished teaching a course, in Kingsclear First Nation, to students who wanted to upgrade their Microsoft Office skills and learn other professional development and career building skills, including technical writing, social media etiquette, and workplace ethics. In addition to learning some technical skills on their computers, they also learned about teamwork and the value of giving back. Before the 8-week course wrapped up, the students had left their mark at the Kingsclear Training Centre.

The 12 students came up with an idea to rejuvenate their classroom at the Training Centre. Like most well-used buildings, it had gone through some wear and tear over the years. The students decided to patch up and paint the classroom to give it a fresh new look.

The entire class participated in the project. They broke up into 3 groups to plan the project, come up with the design, and stencil the classroom. Each student decided which group was the best fit for them and then they all came together to do the actual painting and cleanup.

As you can see from the results, this project turned out beautifully. They chose the turtle design as it is the animal of Kingsclear First Nation and seemed like the best choice for the Kingsclear Training Centre classroom. JEDI is proud of these students and their hard work and dedication. Congratulations on a job well done!
