JEDI is excited to announce the GRAND PRIZE for the 2015 Pow Wow Photo Contests!

The GRAND PRIZE is valued at $500 and includes a handmade bag made by local artist April Paul which contains a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 Lite 7" 8GB Android Tablet, a handmade drum made by local artist Julie Paul, a $60 gift certificate for the Wolastoq Wharf in Fredericton, and 2 mounted prints by artists Pauline Young and Phillip Young. This bag and all of its contents have been donated by our sponsor, RBC, a proud supporter of JEDI and the New Brunswick Aboriginal community.

RBC has an active Employee Resource group called the RBC Royal Eagles, which is made up of both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal employees who work together to create support and awareness for Aboriginal culture throughout RBC. The RBC Royal Eagles support Aboriginal communities by providing funding to activities within the communities that promotes Aboriginal culture and awareness of that culture.

“Royal Eagles Atlantic is proud to be a sponsor of the JEDI photo contest again this year,” says Colleen Doyle, Royal Eagles Atlantic co-chair. “Our Atlantic area is rich in Aboriginal culture and we feel it is important to be a part of this event. RBC wants to create awareness and provide support of Aboriginal culture throughout our organization and within our respective communities. We take pride in sponsoring programs that enhance the economic, social and physical well-being of Aboriginal communities and individuals.”

The New Brunswick Pow Wow trail has traveled through many First Nation communities in New Brunswick this summer. The trail started in St. Mary’s in June and ended in Kingsclear in September.

In addition to the grand prize valued at $500, JEDI has given away $500 in gift cards to lucky winners from across the province. Each winner sent us a beautiful Pow Wow photo which shows that the Aboriginal culture is alive and thriving in New Brunswick. To see the winning photos, check out the JEDI contest page.

Each entry from all 10 contests will be eligible to win the $500 GRAND PRIZE package so even if you didn’t win one of the individual photo contests, there is still a chance to win the $500 grand prize package.

The Grand Prize draw will be held on October 19th, 2016.
