The New Brunswick Teen Apprentice Program (NBTAP) helps high school students meet the growing demand for skilled labour in New Brunswick. NBTAP Student Apprentices learn practical trade and workplace skills which give them a head start on an exciting career in the skilled trades.
During the NBTAP work terms, mentors provide students with exposure to trade specific skills, tools and equipment, practice, coaching, and mentoring. These paid work terms give participating students built-in summer employment.
Acceptance into the program is based on:
- Attitude: Your willingness to be positive and try new things
- Aptitude: Your interest in the industrial trades and “hands on” work
- Ability: Your academic capability and determination to succeed
If you think you have what it takes to become a student apprentice, discuss NBTAP with your parents, teachers and guidance counsellor today.
