The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) is seeking Aboriginal Ambassadors for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Award

Are you an Aboriginal student or fellow studying the Natural Sciences or Engineering?

If you are interested in sharing your research and education experiences or participating in promoting science through events and activities at Aboriginal communities and schools then apply for the Aboriginal Ambassadors in the Natural Sciences and Engineering Award (AANSEA), worth up to $5000.

To be considered for this award, you must submit a 1-2 page proposal which includes an outline of your planned outreach activities and a detailed budget for your proposal. The value of the award will cover up to a maximum of $5,000. 

There are no deadlines for this award but awards are limited and will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications must be made at least 2 months before the start of the proposed activity.

To be eligible for this award, you must:

·       be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;

·       be an Aboriginal person;

·       be registered full-time in a degree program in the natural sciences or engineering (NSE) at an eligible institution or be employed at an eligible institution as a postdoctoral fellow in the NSE;

·       have obtained, over the previous years of study (minimum of two academic terms), a cumulative average of at least second class (a grade of "B" or "B-", if applicable) as defined by your institution.
