In 2009, Brun-Way Highway Operations Inc. and the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) partnered to create the Brun-Way/JEDI Bursary Program. The program initially offered two Aboriginal post-secondary students, who were pursuing Engineering or Business degrees, a $1000 bursary each to assist with their studies.
However, in 2014 the program evolved and is now open to all New Brunswick Aboriginal post-secondary students who are committed to completing their degree. As a result of this change, JEDI has received over 45 applications for the two bursaries in 2014. Both Brun-Way and JEDI are pleased with the interest in the program this year.
The preliminary review of the applications has been completed and the two winners will be announced in January 2015.
JEDI is pleased to celebrate 5 years of partnership with Brun-Way, the success of the Bursary program, and the signing of a Memo of Understanding (MOU) between JEDI and Brun-Way. JEDI looks forward to the continued partnership with Brun-Way for many more years to come.
