Pow Wows are one of the many social gatherings that take place in multiple communities to showcase and experience cultural pride along with making new friends, joining in on dancing and singing, and sharing traditional foods. Pow Wows are free of charge and welcome everyone.
JEDI is holding our 4th annual photo contest for each of the 11 Pow Wows in New Brunswick. To enter, submit your favourite Pow Wow photos or short videos to JEDI’s Facebook page or to contests@jedinb.ca to be eligible to win a $50 gift card to a local business establishment. In addition, all entries that are submitted by the end of the Pow Wow trail will be eligible for a chance to win the grand prize that is valued up to $500.
JEDI’s photo contest is a great way to capture empowering moments of the Pow Wow and Indigenous culture. We adore the wide variety of photos that we receive and we love to share them with our followers.
As always, the start of the 2017 Pow Wow trail will begin in St. Mary’s First Nation in the middle of June, travelling to communities throughout New Brunswick and ending with a grand finale in Kingsclear First Nation in September.
JEDI is proud to announce that we now have two sponsors supporting this year’s Pow Wow photo contest. We are very excited to announce that the RBC Royal Eagles will once again support us as our Gold Sponsor and ARC (Aboriginal Resource Consultants) has come on as our Silver Sponsor.
For full details on the contest, please visit JEDI Powwow Photo Contest. More information regarding the individual contests and the grand prize will be announced soon, so be sure to follow JEDI’s Facebook, Twitter, and blog.jedinb.ca for updates on the contest.
