JEDI is now accepting applications for training in 3 different programs under the Aboriginal Workforce Development Initiative (AWDI).
Are you interested in learning a trade? The New Brunswick Aboriginal Mining, Energy and Trades (NBAMET) program is currently accepting applications from Aboriginals who are interested in advancing their careers in construction or industry trades in the resource and other sectors. People currently working or with work experience in the trades, who are currently enrolled in trades-related training, or who have recently graduated from trades-related training are strongly encouraged to apply.
Courses will be offered early in 2014 in various locations around the province.
Are you interested in learning how to use computers? The New Brunswick Aboriginal Information and Communications Technology (NBAICT) program in conjunction with Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour are currently accepting applications for two upcoming programs:
- Basic Digital Literacy – This course is for Aboriginals who are unfamiliar with using computers. This very basic course is designed to give students an introductory knowledge of computer programs and applications. See: http://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/services/services_renderer.201293.html
- Mobile Applications Development – This course is for Aboriginals with very high level computer and programming aptitudes who are interested in learning website development, computer programming and developing apps for mobile devices.
(This program is tentatively scheduled to start in January 2014, but is subject to interest and funding.)
You can download an application package here or pick up an application package from the JEDI office or from your local ETO.
